Kristaps thoughts after project

Very dynamic and compact EVS group Project has finished. This project included the basic event – the hot air balloon championship – which also has ended very well, more than a month ago. Finally all of balloonteers have been returned to their home. Previous three months for all of us have been very dynamic and interesting. We have learned a lot. Each of us can have different conclusions but anyway I think that this experience has been worth it. Further a little more about my own conclusions and observations. I had the honor to meet very admirable people also from Latvia. I founded some tasty food of different cultures which turned out as one of my most impressive experiences. Also learned that people everywhere are the same and most of the small differences have completely rational causes. One of most valuable experiences was to witness complicity of the individualities coming and working in to the team. In my opinion that kind of group education processes are very actual and valuable for everyone’s personal development. Any way now I have more friends in facebook and hopefully someday will see at least some of them again.

See you next year in hot air balloon championship in Valmiera!

Feedback

< I really enjoyed the balloon festival. I think the team work was very good. Also the opportunity to watch the balloons taking off was my favourite part. It was the best experience and one people dont get to do often. I loved my job as an office assistant aswell i have more office experience now and i feel more qualified. The only thing i enjoyed the least was getting up early because im not use to it. However it was a challenge.Thank you so much to Uldis for making the competiton fun and working so hard. I don't know how he does it. Also thank you to the rest of the officals for being there for us and giving us so much support.

Hi

…recovering from Valmiera cup 2011

Since it was the first time for me in a hot air balloon championship I had no clear expectation of how it was going to be. I was just hoping that it could be fun, and it definitely was!
I was member of a measurement team, which means standing in the field setting the target, waiting for ballooners to fly by and drop their marker… then comes the measuring part of course. I enjoyed it a lot because I had the opportunity to work together with really energetic people and to see some lovely (even if there were a little too many mosquitos :D ) countryside around Valmiera.
I think the moment I loved the most about these crazy five days was the night glow… balloons are even more spectacular in the dark, especially if you get the chance to have a small flight on one of them, as I did ;)
